Vádyé Eshgh وادی عشق (Valley of Love)

Vádyé Eshgh وادی عشق (Valley of Love) is a major new commission by Second Generation Collective, presented at Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA), Western Australia.

​

Khadembashi was commissioned to conceptualise, design, and execute the tattoo work for the film installation. Developed in close dialogue with the collective, the tattoo designs form an integral part of the film’s visual and symbolic language, responding to its thematic concerns and contributing to its embodied narrative framework.

This project was supported by Creative Australia through the Visual Arts and Crafts Strategy (VACS) Major Commissioning Projects fund, and made possible through the generosity of PICA’s Art Commissioners.

The artists of the Second Generation Collective include Ashkaan Hadi, Ashton Namdar, Araan Kousari, Danny Aghaie, Karmel Faithi, Khashayar Salmanzadeh, Mandana Eizadi, Maya-Rose Chauhan, Ramona Zare, Raneen Kousari, Ryan Zare, Asha Kiani and Elham Eshraghian-Haakansson, in collaboration with artist Yasamin Khadembashi.
